Mark Phariss and Vic Holmes tell their story for Outrageous Oral, Volume 16 on Thursday, June 25, 2015, in the Rose Room at S4 in Dallas, Texas. Outrageous Oral is a quarterly evening of poignant memories and stories from Dallas' GLBT past. The Dallas Way is committed to our mission to gather, store, organize, and present the complete GLBT history of Dallas, Texas.
Mark Phariss and Vic Holmes, partners for over 17 years, in October 2013 applied for a marriage license in San Antonio and, when denied, filed suit along with another couple challenging the constitutionality of Texas' ban on same-sex marriages. The district court ruled Texas' ban unconstitutional in February 2014. Texas appealed the decision to the 5th Circuit, which heard oral arguments on January 9, 2015.
